100% moscato di Scanzo (average vineyard age: 45 years)

Marly limestone soils facing south-west, altitude between 250 and 300 m a.s.l. Plant density of 3,000 vines per hectare, espalier training system with low spurred cordon pruning, 2 kg yield per plant, manual harvesting in boxes.

Withering for 25-30 days in the "fruttaio", a forced-ventilation drying loft. Traditional destemming of grapes, temperature-controlled fermentation (28-30°C) in stainless steel tanks, maceration for 10-12 days with pumpovers and punchdowns, maturation in stainless steel, bottling, then resting in glass for 3-5 months.

2019 Vintage

A dry and relatively mild winter was followed by a warm spring, particularly in April, which turned into a very cold and rainy May, causing early budburst and uneven flowering. June and July, on the other hand, saw little rainfall. White grapes were harvested after the first week of September, whereas the last red grapes were harvested in the third decade of October. Overall, the quality of the grapes is good, with excellent results for the moscato di Scanzo grapes. The late harvest of these grapes benefited from the climatic trends of the year.

Aromatic and sweet but never cloying, it has remarkable notes of black cherry and wild berries, accompanied by the aroma of cloves and violets. Rich and satisfying on the palate.
